Let’s kick it American old-school. The Kentucky common is a beer style created just after the American Civil War up to prohibition almost exclusively around Louisville, Kentucky. It was made and consumed quickly (as fresh as possible) using ice harvested from the previous winter.
We don’t recommend you go to those lengths to brew this beer but please do enjoy its malty, amber goodness! Similar drinking to a cream ale but with more robust character from the Rye – this one is a great back-pocket beer!
If you’d like more information on the Kentucky Common – see this description from the great folks of the BJCP!
